Clarks Landing Wedding Photos | Alisha and Brian | Sentimental Wedding

Wedding

Thank you for reading today’s blog about Clark Landing Wedding Pictures!

There is so much to say about Sunday’s wedding, I am not even sure exactly where to begin!  The entire day was perfection from start to finish.  As a photographer this is the exact definition of my dream wedding to document. Simple. Classic. Sentimental. Fun. Beautiful, meaningful details (set up in my own room to shoot, sooooo fancy!). Great dancing. Genuine love.  What more can I ask for?

The day began at the bride’s families home. In Alisha’s childhood bedroom was her beautiful Vera Wang gown, hanging in a  corner over a simple white fur rug.  Alisha’s mom made sure to have other important gowns nearby for photos:  her wedding dress and Alisha’s coming home outfit, christening gown and communion dress.  It was beautiful to tie all of these important and significant things together to help document the day.

Alicia’s bridesmaids were so attentive and helpful. And fun REALLY fun.  (spoiler alert: I will be using the word fun a lot on this blog because it’s true!) After finishing getting glammed up, everyone came upstairs to help Alisha get ready.  Alisha and her mom did a beautiful first look.  I love taking the opportunity for mom to have this special moment of seeing her baby girl as a woman for the first time.  After she stepped into her gown she got to put on a very special and sentimental item.  A fourth generation diamond cross.  The youngest girl in each family is given it and it is worn on their wedding day.  She received this cross from her Yaya, and it was her time to be blessed with this beautiful tradition.

Normally I don’t talk much about groom prep, but Brian’s attire needs a place for its heartfelt story to be told in words. The detail and thought put into outfit had beautiful significance.  The groom’s father passed away and his favorite color was green.  Brian wore a handsome, deep green jacket to honor his father along with his fathers watch. His mother then surprised him with cufflinks that were made of her wedding ring, his fathers, and his grandmothers melted down together.  The links displayed an eagle, his fathers favorite, with diamond eyes. Recently, a groomsman and close friend, Billy (DJ Tempo), also passed.  Brian honored his amazing friend with music note socks, a way to carry his spirit all day.  If marrying the woman of his dreams wasn’t enough to keep his heart racing, knowing he would be standing at the altar with all the important people through his life with him, in one way or another would be.  Brian also made the decision to have his friend’s young sons stand in his place as part of the wedding party.  These handsome little men look great in their tuxes!

The day progressed to a beautiful church service, then to photos at Allaire in some crazy winds, and finally to the amazing Clarks Landing.  As usual, Clark’s did not disappoint and put on a spectacular event. The night started with the cocktail hour and went into the traditional dances (side note – their first dance was LITERALLY on a cloud!)  matron of honor and best man speeches and a heartfelt speech from the groom. Most weddings having dinner, dancing, and drinks.  This wedding had DANCING. Lots of it.  The groom is a DJ and had only the best of the best work his wedding, Jason Jani. Every event I have ever done with Jason has been amazing.  This wedding full of “industry” people took the energy to the next level!

As the night wound down, the couple chose to have a special last dance.  They honored their friend and groomsmen, Billy, by playing their last song for him.  The DJ had everyone throw their hand up to the sky and pause and be in the moment for their friend Billy, DJ Tempo. It’s amazing how something so simple can be so powerful.  When I look at the images from that moment, I literally can feel the emotion.  It was beautiful.

Mr & Mrs Unglert, thank you so much for having me be a small part of something so amazing.  Cheers to your happily ever after!
