I am beyond grateful to say I have been photographing these tw0 (now three!) since the beginning!  I started with their engagement photos, their wedding, onto maternity and now newborn!  Miss Savannah was born right around Christmas, the best gift mom and dad could have asked for.

Miss Savannah has the MOST BEAUTIFUL blue eyes.  Seriously.  They melt your heart.  She decided for the majority of our session that she was going to stay awake and party. Normally our goal is to get babies to sleep as quickly as possible, but often times they have other plans.  The plus side?  The more she was awake the more we got to see of those beautiful eyes!

Our session took place in my Manahawkin studio. Momma was sure to make sure to bring plenty of diaper covers and tutus.  That paired with the supply I keep in studio we were able to doll up this beauty in true girly fashion!

A new little feature I am adding to “tiny person” blog’s is Name that baby! I always love stumbling across random inforamtion, so I decided to start including some in my blogs.  Thank you nameberry.com!

Name that baby: Savannah

A place name with a deep Southern accent, the once-obscure Savannah shot to fame, with others of its genre, on the heels of the best seller Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, which was set in the mossy Georgia city of Savannah–perhaps as a substitute for the no longer fresh Samantha.

. Before that, there were Savannahs in the novel and movieThe Prince of Tides, in the Terry McMillan hit novel and film Waiting to Exhale, played by Whitney Houstonand, even earlier, in a 1982 movie called Savannah Smiles.

Savannah has actually been on the popularity list since records started being kept in the 1880’s; she’s been in the Top 100 since 1993 and is now at a high of Number 37. Desperate HousewivesMarcia Cross chose Savannah for her twin daughter, and it’s the name of Queen Elizabeth‘s first great-grandchild. And Savannah Guthrie can be seen every morning on the Today Show.
