10 Tips for Engagement Photos | NJ Professional Photographer | Jersey Shore Wedding Photographer

I LOVE doing engagement photos! It is an awesome opportunity for me to get to know my clients and for us to build a relationship. I love for your engagement sessions to reflect your personalities, the story of how you met and incorporate things you love.  From sessions on the Point Pleasant Boardwalk to the streets of NYC I love telling your story with my images!

Here are 10 random tips to help your engagement session be it’s best!

1. Get a manicure before hand!  I prefer dark colors (right now I am loving Vintage Vamp by MAC! ) but wear what is most comfortable to you.
2. Scope out pinterest for ideas on what to wear.
3. Your make up should look like you on your best day. Don’t use this day to experiment and go over the top, you won’t feel comfortable.
4. Your session should have a theme. Things don’t have to be overly “matchy” and planed but they should have a natural flow.
5. Bring props! Not necessary signs and things but items that match your style for ring shots, blankets to sit on and more.
6. Clean your ring! A mix of dawn soap, baking soda and a tiny pinch of salt will do the trick.  Check out this link for instructions.
7. Wear layers or a scarf to get more then one look out of your session.
8. Let your photographer tell you what time of day is best. Trust their judgment.
9. RELAX. Maybe have a glass of wine (Santa Margherita is my favorite if you were wondering!). If you are up tight it will show!
10. HAVE FUN!  Enjoy the experience.  It’s one hour of your life,  let loose and be natural and the rest will fall into place.
