I am a New Jersey wedding photographer but that doesn’t I don’t love to travel and shoot other locations! In June my guy Dylan and I flew across the country to Washington state. The purpose of our trip was half vacation and half work. By work I mean spending time with Nicole and Frank to document their elopement wedding! I consider myself a well traveled person and I can honestly say that Washington is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I am so filled with gratitude that Nicole and Frank asked me to be their wedding photographer. It was a beautiful day and amazing trip! Tree House Point was amazing and unique, the location fit the couples vision and personality perfectly. Nicole looked stunning in her BHLDN skirt and Theia top. The details from the day were simple and a perfect mix of hispster, boho and TJMaxx. I think Nicole would adore my description. The next day we met again for a day after session and Nicole had chopped all her hair just an hour before! It was an amazing trip and an EPIC elopement!
And now a few words of advice from the bride!
-
Q. Where was your ceremony and reception held?
A. Ceremony was at the one & only Treehouse Point in Issaquah, WA and our “reception” consisted of the two of us heading out to a local brewery for flights and hot wings.
-
Q. What made you decide on your reception location?
A. Um… Flights and hot wings. Come on.
-
Q. What was your favorite little detail you DIY’d for your day?
A. we kept it really simple. especially considering we had to travel across the country to get to our destination- there were no arts and craft projects. But, I did lug with me all the fixins for a little cake and champs he picnic.. pillows, blankets a basket etc. That was probably my favorite detail. It just looked to perfect nestled under the moss-y trees.

Q. How many dresses did you try on before you found the one? Who was the designer of your dress?
A. What felt like 1000. I didn’t think I was every going to find “the one”. I ended up doing a mix and match 2 piece. My skirt was from BHLDN and my top was Theia.
-
Q. If you could change one thing, what would it be?
A. I wish we had more time. We left a little too many things on the “to-do” list for the morning of which cut into our time a little bit. But, I think even if we hadn’t been behind I still would have wished for more time at Treehouse Point! It’s that lovely.

Q. Do you have any advice for future brides?
A. Do you, boo!! Whatever the perfect wedding is to *you*- do it! Whether you have a wedding with 1 guest or 1000, serve filet mignon or hot dogs- stay true to your vision and what the perfect wedding means to you & your groom! And if at the end of the day you are married to the love of your life… It was a successful wedding.

Q. What was your favorite moment of the day?
A. My favorite moment of the whole day was after everything was said and done- looking in each others eyes and saying- we did it!
