Jen and Ross are MARRIED | Sea Oaks Wedding | South Jersey Wedding Photographer | Red, White and Blue Wedding

I don’t even know where to begin to describe this day to you!  Jen and Ross had both their ceremony and reception at the always perfect Sea Oaks in Little Egg Harbor.  Their wedding was on 4th of July and was navy and white with pops of bright red. Anyone who is lucky enough to live at the shore in South Jersey (cough cough- us!) knows it’s one of the most celebrated days of the year.  Jen and Ross took that to another level.  The decor was awesome, I was borderline obsessed. Every single detail was perfect, down to her red Lipstick.

The weather looked like it had no plans of cooperating, but we were able to sneak out and get portraits done!  By time the ceremony came around the weather was perfect.  Once the guests enjoyed cocktail hour we headed up stairs for the first dance.  Jen is a dance instructor and I knew she wasn’t going to have some boring sway  (like I would!) going on. One of her students choreographed a dance for them…  It started slow and traditional and ended anything but!

The night went on.. food was eaten, dances had and drinks downed. Everything really was beautiful from start to finish!

Below you will find a new feature I have started: Bride Q&A for blogs!  I am always trying to find a new way to help my clients  and offer something different!

  • Q. Where was your ceremony and reception held?
    A. Sea oaks country club little egg harbor nj
  • Q. What made you decide on your reception location?
    A. Fell in love with the place and Ross is really into golf. Plus super close to where my family lives!
  • Q. What was your favorite little detail you DIY’d for your day?
    A. My sparkler escort cards that my sister and her boyfriend helped me painfully asssmble each and everyone! each escort card held sparklers for the send off at the end of the night. My sister and her boyfriend also made my “antiqued” wooden American flag heart that was at our reception…after I saw one one the island that was $500 and wanted ever so badly!! They hand made and painted this wooden heart flag and we let it sit outside in the sun and rain to weather and and antique for a whole year. Came out perfect for our wedding day!!!!
  • Q. How many dresses did you try on before you found the one? Who was the designer of your dress?
    A. 3!!! Kitty Chen
  • Q. If you could change one thing, what would it be?
    A. I forgot to use our balloons for our first look but we reenacted it so it’s not a big deal! Everything else was perfect!!!
  • Q. Do you have any advice for future brides?
    A. Everything falls into place! It’s hard to envision your big day in advance but take your time sorting out details! The details are everything!! Guests notice when you put in the extra time to make sure everything ties in. I got soooooo many compliments on how well put my bridesmaids looked with their dresses to hair to necklaces to their shoes! My nautical theme with July 4th colors went a long way! I would do it all over again In a heartbeat!
  • Q. What was your favorite moment of the day?
    A. Our first look! All the nerves went away when we first saw each other!!! I was a ball of anxiety up until that point!! After that I knew everything was going to be ok!!! My other favorite part was our first dance!! I teach dance and physical education at Raritan high school in Hazlet… My student who is a phenomenal dancer offered to choreograph our first dance to Sam Smith’s  acoustic version of “latch”! Ross and I had fun learning the dance and practicing at school only days before the wedding! For Ross having 2 left feet, I am sooo proud of the performance he did! I watch the dance over and over again because it was such a great memory from our day!
