Thank you for reading today’s blog about an LBI surprise beach proposal!
Early in the summer Bobby contacted me to set up for me to capture his surprise proposal to Rose. When he called me first I was sitting on the side of the road with a broken down 1970’s Harley in my pajama pants and bikers kept stopping to ask if I was ok. I was, ha! It was a Sunday morning and my guy Dylan had been working on the vintage bike he and his father had rebuilt and he needed jumper cables. I thought this meant I would drop them and leave, wrong! He needed to take my truck home and grab some tools, so on a road in the pines I sat with the bike. I feared Bobby would think I was a little crazy, but he somehow maintained faith in me and I am glad he did!
He planned for them to go to plantation for dinner and I arrived early scared I would miss the big moment! Good thing I did! They finished dinner early and headed to the beach. I walked around pretending to take photos of waves and shells. A random group came up to me and asked me to take a photo of them with my “big, nice camera” and I quickly explained, in the nicest way possible, “Ummm, nope! Something big is about to go down”. Seconds latter Bobby dropped to to one knee! The timing was literally perfection!
Rose, his long time girlfriend of, basically forever, didn’t expect a thing! She thought it wouldn’t happen till closer to the holidays. She was so beyond excited and it truly was a beautiful moment to capture! Rose immediately called her family. Those few moments captured are some of my favorite from the session! You can see the complete joy on her face! This couple was so sweet and wonderful to work with. I wish you both many years of happiness and unexpected, beautiful surprises!
