In the past newborn photography has been about poses, Pinterest, blankets, baskets, and bows.  I have slowly steered away from that over the years. I believe in a few classic and timeless newborn photos. It is so important to document your sweet new baby.  It is also important to document the new dynamic parenthood is creating in your life. Your newborn session includes images showing connection and feeling.   I want you to look back at your newborn photos in 20 years and remember the wrinkles, tiny toes, moments of soothing, the faces of crying because they are hungry. Lifestyle portraits tell your truest story, it goes beyond documenting perfect posed portraits.

Your lifestyle newborn session with LTP includes some simple, neutral and beautiful portraits of your new bundle of joy. We next move onto a family portrait and some individuals with the parents and baby. If the baby has siblings we work with the sibling’s age-appropriate abilities to document their new relationship.  We then spend the remainder of time focusing on documenting the real moments of life and parenting.

Sessions are often performed in client’s homes.  You don’t need much space or a big, fancy house to make beautiful images.  I need access to natural light.  A large window or even a sliding door in your kitchen can work.  I need about the space of a dining room table to work in.  You are also welcome to come to my Manahawkin, in-home studio space.  This relaxed and casual environment is a great option for many families.
