I don’t even know where to begin with this Long Beach Island wedding blog! Jess and Chris were a DREAM to work with. Jess (and Chris but mostly Jess!) laughed, and laughed and laughed some more all day. Usually with weddings I only showcase the best, the perfect. Today I decided to do something different with this fun couple. I wanted to include some of the behind the scenes images because I feel the newlyweds have an honest appreciation for life and the ability to laugh at imperfection. The wedding day itself was perfection. A stunning gown. Beautiful couple. Stellar florals. Epic food and atmosphere by the Shell. What was funny and maybe not perfect: me moving a grill, a stray cat on the bride’s dress while rockstar second shooter Kathleen demonstrates a dip kiss, a champagne pop filled with laughter then went slightly off.

These are the realities that love and a perfect day are built upon. These are the moments that create our lives. I can’t imagine most couples would love these images but I know Jess will love them and that is what matters. Creating documentation that brings my client back to their wedding day. Relationships are built on more then the perfect moments, they are built on the things that happen behind the scenes and how we handle them. Jess and Chris handled every curve ball thrown at them with laughter, from rain the second we stepped outside to the stray cat on the bride’s gown. The couple laughed and was not stressed by anything. I value and respect the relationship I saw in all of those real moments and I look forward to seeing where their journey takes them.
