Welcome to today’s blog for Mr & Mrs Schmid’s wedding at Welkinweir Estate! Their wedding was full of greenery and stunning florals from Eastlin Florals with so many personal and beautiful touches to tie in their theme throughout the day.  Welkinweir is a 197-acre nonprofit arboretum, garden, mansion, and conservation area that opened in 1940.  Every inch and turn of this venue is absolute perfection!

Getting Ready

The bride stepped into her stunning Pnina Tornai gown from Kleinfeld Bridal in NYC in a beautiful Airbnb surrounded by family and her bridesmaids.  The groom got ready at the estate and wore a blue Ralph Lauren suit. The bridesmaids wore gowns by Shona Joy titled Oyster.  I love the simplicity of all aspects of their details and how they pulled together to make a big impact!

 

First Look and Portraits

The newlyweds opted for a first look, but you won’t see photos of that here!  I believe that is a truly private moment and should be kept that way for the couple.  After they had a moment together we immediately began portraits for the day to make sure the couple had ample time to enjoy cocktail hour and being with their guests!

 

The Ceremony

The grounds of the Estate were breathtaking.  The Schmid’s were able to have their ceremony outdoors overlooking the lake.  The ceremony was short, sweet and to the point!  The most important guest may have been the couple’s dog Taylor, who stayed for the entire party.

 

 

The Reception

Guests were treated to an endless cocktail hour and a gourmet meal before they began to dance the night away! After the couple’s first dance I asked if I could steal them for ten minutes for some more photos on the grounds, they were happy to oblige and I am so glad they did! The celebration took place and the guests had an amazing night!
