The title St Patrick’s wedding is slightly misleading, technically they got married the day before! This Irish, beach-loving couple found the perfect way to blend all the things that are important to them together for a beautiful St Patricks wedding! I met Jen many moons ago when she was a physical therapy student where I worked before LTP existed. We bonded over our obsession of dogs and always laughed and got along well. I was so happy she called me when it was time for the wedding planning to begin!
The day started at Jen’s parent’s home where she and the girls got ready. John, my main second shooter (and real-life favorite person of mine) was with the boys as they did all the important things like hanging out with the dogs and drink beer, ha! My friend and documentary photographer Lauren came along for the day to see what weddings were about. She captured so many sweet and candid moments and lots of behind the scenes of how images are made, I will share those with you all another day! Jen’s parents have a beautiful window over their front door, and in true “Jen fashion”, she was climbing ladders and getting the dresses hung and ready for photos! As everyone finished getting ready we headed to the beach in Seaside NJ to start with portraits and prepare for the ceremony!
It was windy and freezing. I heard someone say the wind gusts were 40 miles an hour, and I believe it! Despite the winds, we got beautiful photos. The ceremony was held in an absolutely stunning, newly renovated church right on the beach. St Elizabeth’s chapel was not only beautiful but everyone was helpful, kind and supportive. The ceremony was perfection and it was time to face the freezing cold for more portraits!
I found the perfect location to end the portraits, but it was blocked by two fences. Jen didn’t skip a beat and hopped the fences in her wedding dress. I love when a girl isn’t afraid of anything! I can happily say that the fence hoping was worth it! The party continued at the reception in Toms River and the entire night was amazing.
Mr & Mrs Criag – thank you for letting me be apart of such an amazing day!
