Today’s blog feature is about something I am truly passionate about – LBI sunrise photos.  I started doing sunrise sessions on LBI in the summer of 2016.  I was in awe of the beauty that was an early morning sun with complete and total peace and silence.  Being an LBI photographer I have had photo sessions in every nook and cranny of Long Beach Island at every possible time of day. Sunrise sessions called to me.  They pulled at my heart strings as something I could offer that no other photographer was.  I wanted to give my clients something different and unique that they weren’t going to find elsewhere.  The way the colors and light reflect off the ocean combined with how the light literally changes every 30 seconds giving a fresh new look speaks to me.  As you scroll through the images below you will see that the images look like they are from completely different days as mother nature changes her lighting. I love the multitude of looks you can get from one session by embracing the natural beauty that is around and taking advantage of the beach being completely empty.

Here are some tips, ideas and thoughts about LBI sunrise photos and Long Beach Island engagement photos!

• Getting up early is worth it, I promise!
• Our session usually begins about 30 minutes before sunrise.
• I like to photograph these sessions in 3 specific spots. Barnegat Light (need to be there 35 min early, it’s a walk!) , Surf City and Beach Haven.  There is a method to my madness!
• We do need to be a little flexible and play things based on weather after 8pm the night before.
• The tides will also play a roll in our schedule, low tide is preferable if we can make it happen!
